There aren’t many places you can visit, establish a business and within one year establish yourself as the leader in an industry you knew nothing about on arrival. This is Sierra Leone, a swiftly developing West African country with abundant untapped natural and human resources. Sierra Leone is the place smart investors from Asia, Europe, and other African countries are betting on… with real money. There were over 1.4 billion dollars of foreign direct investments FDI in 2017 but with the Chinese seizing the opportunity for ground-level entry since, they are dwarfing those numbers by billions of dollars.
China is currently financing a hospital, a hydroelectric dam, a rubber production project spanning several thousand hectares (worth USD 1.2 billion, financed by China Hainan Rubber Group), as well as rice cultivation (100,000 hectares), stadiums, roads, bridges, electrical project, a fishing harbour project, and is involved in mining (Kingho Group is involved in a USD 6 billion mining project complex). A subsidiary of the French Bolloré Group will build a new dock for USD 120 million in Freetown and various surrounding infrastructure for USD 87 million. UK firm Winch Energy in engaged in the construction of mini solar plants, American SL Mining will start exploiting the Marampa iron mine and Israeli company Agrotop jointly with South African Integrated Solutions Africa (ISA) Group will construct a large-scale poultry bird farming for commercial egg production (USD 60 million projects). – Sandander TradePortal
Sierra is open to business and the opportunity for Americans and Europeans to claim their share of a very large pie is still within grasp. Not often are opportunities made available to the everyday investor. It’s usually after most of the opportunities are exhausted. Sierra Leone is a green field investment opportunity that will pay dividends to those that seize them.
This may seem daunting when billions get thrown around. However, what we understand at Decoding Legacy is that you can make a big impact quickly with entry level funds in the 10’s and 100s of thousands of dollars with businesses that are poised to be the future leaders of their industry.
